About Michael

Professor Michael Green provides professional, high-quality consultancy for education leaders and settings.

 

Michael is a very experienced education leader, academic and consultant who is driven by a commitment of improving the life chances of children and young people. Over his 23-year career in education he has held a number senior positions in a range of educational and government settings. These include executive leadership within a large multi-academy trust as Director of Strategy and Projects, working for Ofsted as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Education, leading initial teacher education and partnership development in higher education, working as a government advisor in the Department for Education on teacher workload, undertaking international advisory work on curriculum and teacher development and holding senior leadership positions within primary schools. Michael also has wide-ranging experience of governance and has previously held

governor, trustee and member positions.

Michael has extensive project management and bid writing experience. In his role as Director of Strategy and Projects Michael project led the opening of a new special school for pupils aged 3 to 16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This included the opening of a multi-million pound new build.

​

Michael is an experienced and dynamic education professional with excellent leadership, organisational, project management and interpersonal skills honed over his extensive career. He leads by example, with high expectations which are driven by a passion to provide the best possible education for all. He is skilled in public speaking, delivering keynote talks, professional development and providing tailored consultancy support in early years, primary, secondary and higher education settings both nationally and internationally.

In addition to Michael's consultancy work, he is a Visiting Professor and an Ofsted Inspector for schools and initial teacher education.

​

Michael is based in Kent but is able to travel both nationally and internationally. He is also used to providing remote support via Teams.

​
